Dirce

Adopted into a loving home

On Nov 26, 2024, PAW received a desperate call about an elderly dog suffering terribly — dragging herself due to leg fractures, battling severe vomiting and diarrhea. Today Dirce has an entirely new life. She was adopted into a loving home where she's safe, adored, and even has a Dachshund sibling. She's gained weight to nearly 19 pounds and is thriving — finally with the comfort and love she deserves in her final years.

Margot is officially adopted! It was a foster fail with PAW's amazing vet, Dr. Camila — who sometimes takes recovering dogs home from the hospital to finish treatment. The same thing happened with Foguete, and now with Margot. She joins her new family as one of Camila's beloved dogs.

Oreo

Adopted by a cat-loving family

Last August, returning to the hotel after a long day at the sanctuary, a friendly little cat ran up meowing for attention — clearly recently dumped. The team named him Oreo, and he spent the night in their hotel room. He went to the vet the next morning for tests and vaccinations, then settled in at PAW's cat hotel. Alê, an incredible cat lover who helps PAW often, fell in love with him and adopted him.

Bono and six others were abandoned and left to die alone when their breeder admitted he did not plan to return to care for them. Adopted after a 10-month wait

Happy adoption to Guto — he'd been waiting 10 months for this moment. PAW rescued Guto on January 13, 2023 with a massive open wound on his head. He underwent surgery to close it and made an incredible recovery. Ten months later, a very kind woman fell in love with Guto and adopted him.
