In August 2022, a young horse arrived at the vet hospital with a fractured leg after being forced to compete in vaquejada — a brutal Brazilian sport. His owner wouldn't pay for his care and was already trying to sell him off. PAW's community raised the funds to buy Sunny and bring him to safety. Today he's thriving in the sanctuary, surrounded by a loving herd and finally free to just be a horse.
